Ridgecroft School is thrilled to welcome back Ridgecroft alumnus Billy Jenkins (Class of 1999) as our new Athletic Director. For the past 19 years, Coach Jenkins has worked for Southampton County Public Schools in Virginia as a teacher, athletic director, coach, and principal. Most recently, he was the 7th grade principal and middle school athletic director at Southampton Middle School and varsity baseball coach and JV boy’s basketball coach at Southampton High School. Coach Jenkins is the two-time Tri-Rivers District Baseball Coach of the Year and led his team to three Tri-Rivers District Baseball Regular Season Championships. Since 2018, he has had 11 players go on to play collegiate baseball. Coach Jenkins received his B.A. in criminal justice and political science from North Carolina Wesleyan University and holds a Masters of Educational Administration and a doctoral educational specialist degree from Grand Canyon University. At Ridgecroft, Coach Jenkins will coach baseball and girls’ basketball. He is excited to lead athletics at the school where he has so many fond memories and looks forward to watching his son, Laettner, a Ridgecroft first grader, grow both academically and athletically.
Ridgecroft is a member of the NCISAA which provides rules and regulations for team play and hosts all State Championships for Independent School in NC. We are also a founding member of the Tarheel Independent Conference, a 1A conference located in Northeastern North Carolina.
